On 22 August 2025 at 9:00 p.m., on Legionów Square in Wieluń, an exceptional open-air performance Meeting Prospero will be presented by the renowned Lviv Voskresinnia Theatre – one of the most recognized street theatres in Central and Eastern Europe.
The production, inspired by the works of William Shakespeare (The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), is a masterfully staged wordless spectacle that, through movement, imagery, sound, and fire, transports the audience into a world of Shakespearean symbols and imagination.
The central figure of the play is Prospero – a magical prince and guide through a realm filled with fantasy and theatrical magic. Alongside him appear stilt-walkers in elaborate, colourful costumes, metal warrior figures, moving machines, light effects, smoke, lanterns, fireworks, and vibrant pyrotechnics. The atmosphere is further enhanced by a diverse soundtrack – from unsettling rhythms to joyful piano melodies.
To Meet Prospero is a grand-scale street performance in which theatrical form harmonizes with Shakespearean content in a way accessible both to connoisseurs and to those just discovering the playwright from Stratford. It is a staging that – although without dialogue – speaks directly to the imagination of audiences of all ages.
Admission to the event is free.
We warmly invite all residents and guests to share in this extraordinary evening of art in the heart of Wieluń.
